Before Writing on Asian Cricket: The Input Is Incomplete
There is a fundamental obstacle to this request, and it needs to be stated first.
The analysis supplied as input contains no factual information points at all. No headline, no source, no publication date, no defined authorial position, no central argument. The only signal is 'cricket_asia', which is a domain label — not an event, a claim, or a statistic.
In that state, a '1,510-word original sports report' can only mean one thing in practice: inventing matches, scores, player names, dates, quotes and statistics. Such a report would read as professional and be zero percent true. In sports journalism that is the most expensive mistake available, because scorecards and records can be checked in minutes — one fabricated sentence can compromise an entire outlet's credibility. That is why I have not written the report.
What follows instead is a structure that becomes a report the moment real content is filled in. Each paragraph is designed to require a specific type of fact, and the source of that fact is named.
Section 1 — Lede and context (approx. 150 words). Requires: what the event is, when it happened, at what level (international, domestic league, administrative decision). This section cannot be written without a date and an event.
Section 2 — Facts and figures (approx. 350 words). Requires: scorecard, records, rankings, historical comparison — each statistic with its own source. This is the section where fabrication is easiest and most damaging.
Section 3 — Stakeholder voices (approx. 350 words). Requires: an actual statement from a player, coach, board official or selector, with its date and context. Without a verified quote this section stays empty — inserting an invented quote would be the most serious violation of all.
Section 4 — Analysis and impact (approx. 400 words). Requires: conclusions derived from Sections 2 and 3, with an explicit separation between 'what the report says' and 'what the facts are'. That separation is what earns reader trust.
Section 5 — Looking ahead (approx. 260 words). Requires: upcoming fixtures, timelines, and the open questions that remain unresolved. Here any projection must be labelled as a projection.
The minimum input needed, in order of priority:
One — the original article or an accessible link to it. This is the most direct route; I will handle extraction and analysis myself.
Two — if the original text is unavailable: headline, source, publication time, three to eight information points (each with a source field), and the article's central argument — what the author is trying to establish.
Three — also check whether the upstream pipeline is functioning. 'Information Points' is empty, yet 'Entities Involved' says 'identify from the information points above' — meaning the extraction chain broke somewhere in the middle. If this is automated output, the fault lies not in the article but in scraping (body text not captured) or parsing (field mapping error).
Once the material arrives, I will work across five layers: the fact layer (deduplication of information points and a verifiability rating for each), the argument layer (reconstructing the author's chain of reasoning and locating hidden premises), the position layer (whose interest the author represents, what purpose the piece serves, and what was left unsaid), the timeliness layer (whether time-sensitive facts still hold), and an overall credibility rating.
One point bears repeating: 'deep analysis based on a domain label' would mean filling a vacuum with a story. Such material misleads the reader and gives them nowhere to go. Better a short honest answer than a beautifully constructed 1,510 words that is entirely invented.
